Before I forget, ANOTHER plate of desserts was delivered to my cabin courtesy of Big Tex and John Heald, and a bottle of wine from John Heald with dinner. Thank you John and Big Tex! I'll have to remember to fill in the blanks later.
I had never seen two cruise ships in Progreso and wasn't sure the schedule was right, but yes indeed, Progreso can handle two cruise ships at the same time.
Here I went with the Caverns and Caves snorkel. It was snorkeling in two Cenotes ( Chelentun Cenote Yucatan) and was different. A long bus ride (about 2 hours going counting organization time, and less coming back) and we arrived at a small village where horse drawn carts take you down a nice bumpy rail ride. 31 passengers from the ship were on a large air conditioned bus with bathroom, so lots of room. It's one of those trips that I am glad I did, but don't think there is a reason to do it a second time. Don't get me wrong - I really liked the trip, but was a little long and a little demanding physically. If I had to do it all over again, I would, just not sure I would do it more than once.
The water in the Cenotes is fresh and while cool, not as cool as I was expecting. Light was ok, but not great for pictures, although I did get some. Also a few short video clips, one of which is amazing, but will have to wait until I'm back to real broadband to post those.
A box lunch was included and wasn't bad. I think there might have been some variety, but mine had a banana, Doritos of some kind of spicy nacho flavor, a ham and cheese sandwich, and what seemed like a Mexican moon pie to me,.
